Somatic Reclamation
This multi-modality approach presents new way of identifying, working with & transforming old stories that are locked in your body that are no longer serving you - these might show up as: chronic tension, anxiety, zoning-out, depression, digestive issues, absent joy, skin issues, inability to relax, numbness, feelings of panic & even ‘character traits’ such being quick to anger, passivity or clumsiness - to name a few.
Through somatic healing joy, self connection, ease, instinct, relaxation, and the ability to move with the abs and flows of life can be restored.

The body remembers, even when we don’t.
This approach recognises there is a direct link between the body and the mind, and that this link can be influenced, enhanced or compromised by our experiences including our past experiences.
A somatic method works consciously with the body - mind connection without the need to dig up the details. All is welcome, and many find it helpful to share, but sharing story is not essential which is helpful if we aren’t fully sure of the details. Your body is giving us all the information we need, meaning we can start there - in the here and now.
The art of relaxation & self-connection
Somatic healing helps you move beyond trying to think things into being. If we could so easily think our way into a relaxed state, the world and the people it it would be a whole lot more chilled out.
What is needed deep real-time, lived experience of relaxation & safety (with self and/or with another) coupled conscious understanding of our own body in times of relaxation and stress or activation. This is what imprints deeply on our physiology and creates lasting change in our body and mind.
Finding safety in connection.
Somatic healing is collaborative which means it’s not something done to you - it’s done with you.
I bring a potent array of healing resources to this space, tried and tested with many clients, including myself. I offer you a space to be witnessed without judgment, held with utmost compassion and care, and I share with integrity that which will support you on your path to wellness.
And, yet you are not a passive participant in this modality. As whilst Somatic healing doesn’t require you to know anything, be anything, do anything even, and I will curate the space and sessions for you - it does requires a willingness to be curious about yourself, and a desire to practice new ways of being both in and outside of our shared space.

A first session will typically include a full Ayurvedic yoga massage, and subsequent sessions typically include aspects of yoga massage but will also include somatic practices, coaching & easy embodied education.
By this I mean the appointments includes elements which are often included in a yoga massage session such as clothed massage, nurturing touch, gentle guided movement, stretching and breathing as well as meditation but may not always include an oil based massage. Years of experience and feedback from clients has demonstrated that clothed bodywork can be equally effective to support somatic healing.
Full Ayurvedic Yoga Massage can be included for additional cost and time, and is a highly complimentary addition. Simply contact me to arrange this inclusion.

It is most beneficial to those who are willing to engage in self-enquiry and enact small but meaningful changes to their everyday habits.

Usually there is a greater level of intentionally with someone who feels called to Somatic healing. You know that a single dose of relaxation isn’t going to cut it. You sense that there is a pattern at play, a missing link, and are ready to make a concerted step towards creating a meaningful shift.
For example, maybe you’ve experienced a shift in your mind, but you just can’t seem to translate that through the body. You might know that how you’re feeling about XYZ is a result of XYZ, and be able to sooth yourself intellectually, but your body just doesn't seem to get the memo.
Somatic healing is highly complimentary for counselling, talking therapy and other forms of self enquiry. My client have described how Somatic healing helped them to integrate the work they’d done in the talking space, or help them continue forward when they felt they’d hit a plateau with conventional therapy.

You don’t learn to drive a car (typically!) in a single driving session - this process is the same. We are teaching your body new ways of being - it’s kind to give it a little bit of time to imprint in its muscle memory.
After your first session if you sense we are a good fit you’ll have the opportunity to embark on a package with me. These start at 6 sessions, with payment plans available where supportive.

A first session is £120, and subsequent sessions as part of package are £100.

Wellbeing Forms
Before your first appointment I will ask you to fill in a confidential wellbeing form so you get the most from the session & I can support unique needs. This will also include some standard T’s & C’s. You’ll need to keep me in the loop with any health changes as we work together too.
Cancellations & punctuality
I do ask for a full 48 hours notice for changes and cancellations or for the full fee to be covered if cancelled or rearranged within less than 48 hours.
If you are late to your appointment, your appointment will still end at the scheduled time unless otherwise discussed as I will typically have pre-arranged appointments following your own.
Payment
Payment is required in advance of your appointment unless otherwise discussed. In the extremely unlikely even that I should need to cancel your appointment you will receive a full refund or rearrangement of your appointment.
Boundaries
I endeavour to provide the highest support within my field of expertise. Unfortunately I am not able to provide crisis support and am only available for contact within working hours.
Any aggressive, lewd or sexual behaviour will not be tolerated and will result in the immediate termination of our work together with any payment made for service, received or otherwise, retained.
